A programmer's perspective, or chill out, parent!

In today's times, when technology surrounds us from all sides, it is important that we consider the role that electronics plays in the lives of our children. As a programmer, I would like to share some thoughts on why parents should not completely prohibit children from using electronic devices.

The world is changing - let's not fall behind

The first and most important thing to understand is that we live in a digital age. Technology is developing at a dizzying pace, and the ability to use electronics is becoming as important as the ability to read and write. Children who learn to operate different devices from an early age will be better prepared for life and work in an increasingly digital world.

Moderation is key

Of course, as in every area of life, finding the golden mean is crucial. It's not about allowing our children to spend every free moment in front of a screen. Moderation in using electronics is necessary, just like moderation in eating sweets or watching television. It's important that parents establish healthy boundaries and teach children responsible technology use.

Electronics - a tool, not an enemy

It's also worth remembering that electronic devices themselves are not evil. They are tools that can be used for learning, developing skills, and even for building relationships with others. There are many educational apps and games that can help children develop mathematical, linguistic, or logical skills.

The role of a parent in a digital world

As parents, we can play an active role in the process of our children learning about technology. Instead of prohibiting, it's worthwhile to spend time exploring and learning together. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss online safety, the importance of privacy, and how critical thinking is important when dealing with information found online.

The world is changing!

Let's remember that we are raising children in a completely different world than the one we grew up in. Denying them access to electronics is like trying to stop progress - it's impossible and impractical. Instead, let's focus on educating and supporting our children in learning how to use these tools wisely and responsibly. Technology, used in the right way, can be a powerful ally in educating and developing our children.
